Meditation is practicing a state of awareness by quieting your mind to achieve complete balance emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. When we mostly think of Meditation, we often think about sitting in a candlelit room on the floor with our legs crossed...well this sets the mood. However Meditations comes in many different forms and styles which all serve the same purpose... "MINDFULNESS".
Mindfulness is defined as the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something, so meditation teaches you how to quiet your mind and surroundings to obtain a clear state of mind in order to obtain clarity within your thoughts or a situation. Mindfulness also is defined as a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, which is often used as a therapeutic technique which we call Meditation.
Meditation can be practiced in many ways depending on the person implementing the exercise. Some enjoy quiet walks in the park, sitting quietly in a dimly lit ambiance or sitting peacefully in nature. Whatever setting is chosen the main goal is to receive clarity or peace within ones life or current situations.
Meditation can bring answers and clarity within yourself that you may find it hard to achieve with the noises of your daily life and even your own thoughts so loudly within your consciousnesses.
